Originally Poswall & White, the law firm of Brelsford Androvich & White has been in existence since the early 90’s. Though many illustrious names pass through this firm, the firms eminent suitability with litigation is still very much indissoluble. BA&W understands that most clients have never been involved in litigation and are unaware of the legal process. The attorneys of BA&W not only work to achieve the best results possible, they educate the client and provide guidance. They pride themselves on being approachable and warm. Concern for the client’s well being during the entire litigation process is a hallmark of their practice. Commitment to excellence, integrity and success while representing the injured and wronged has given BA&W its distinctive reputation. All of our attorneys are imbued with this commitment and trained in this tradition.
The firm’s senior lawyers have decades of experience in Sacramento and Northern California courtrooms. Two of the firm’s partners, John M. Poswall and R. Parker White, launched their practice together in 1993 after they both worked at Friedman Collard & Poswall.
Poswall & White established itself as a leader in personal injury litigation by successfully handling cases against major multinational corporations and taking challenging medical malpractice cases in difficult rural regions.
John M. Poswall, now retired, whose litigation tactics are the stuff of legend in the legal community, has successfully sued Italian gun manufacturers, Canadian trucking companies, French resort owners, and many of the U.S. Fortune 500 companies. From airplane crashes, product defects, vehicle and boating accidents, to dangerous highway designs, police shootings, sexual harassment and attorney malpractice, he has recovered millions for his clients. It is said he used a Halloween “Trick or Treat” bag during cross examination of a General Motors expert witness in a Yolo County trial, wore cowboy garb to lull an unsuspecting Shell Oil executive in a Texas deposition, had a jury laughing when he proved a State of California expert had the wrong tire in a highway design case, and went on television to encourage customers to shop at Montgomery Wards as he had marshals seize the store to pay off a multi–million dollar jury wrongful termination verdict he won for his client.
With a select few, John has been inducted into the prestigious American College of Trial Lawyers and elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates. Also, he is recognized as one of the “Best Lawyers in America.” No other Sacramento attorney has been listed in the national publication of the “Best Lawyers in America” longer. Nor has any lawyer been recognized more for his litigation skill and public service in support of women, minorities, human rights, and civil liberties.
Over the last 30 years, Parker White (Of Counsel) has developed a special knowledge of medicine necessary to handle major medical malpractice cases. This knowledge also makes him a resource for all of the attorneys in the firm on complex medical issues in accident cases. He is called upon by Stanford Law School, McGeorge School of Law, and the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates to instruct lawyers in the art of civil litigation and trial advocacy. Parker was the president of American Board of Trial Attorneys, Sacramento Valley Chapter in 2006. In 2010, Parker litigated and tried a disputed liability automobile accident case involving the death of a single woman. The jury returned a verdict in the amount of $4,000,000. This is just one of many seven figure settlements or verdicts which Parker has obtained over the years.
William Brelsford, a lawyer since 1999, brings to the firm extensive trial experience and a thorough understanding of how to defeat insurance companies in cases arising from auto accidents, medical malpractice and products liability. He joined the firm in 2006 and was named partner in 2009.
Joe Androvich joined BA&W after having served six years as a defense lawyer in the Sacramento area. Joe has successfully represented clients at Trial and licensing hearings. He has participated in a number of civil jury Trials in Sacramento, Yuba, Sutter, and El Dorado counties. He is intimately familiar with all aspects of litigation leading up to and including Trial.
